Quick, clear, effective

Whilst a screenshot represents a single image of a screen, a screencast is in the form of a film which consists of many such screenshots played back in quick succession. Explanations and clarification can be done using text as well as a narrator.

Using so-called spotlights, or visual highlights, the learner’s focus can be guided through each of the steps in the screencast thereby increasing the learner’s attention. Screencasts are, for example, well suited to presenting new products or operating procedures. Additionally, they can be used as tutorials.
