The challenge

The aim of introducing e-learning as a supplement to face-to-face training is, in view of high staff fluctuation, to increase the efficiency of staff induction worldwide and to achieve a consistently high quality of service through uniform standards.

The target group consists of new members of service staff and service staff employees in the locations

  • with little affinity for technology,
  • with different native languages.


The aim is to facilitate learning and refreshing of specialist knowledge in the fields of

  • Occupational health and safety and hygiene,
  • Corporate standards,
  • Customer communication...

... and to monitor learning progress and success.

The solution

Members of staff can access a range of self-study media at any time and from any location. The learning media used are

  • videos,
  • interactive learning modules and
  • knowledge tests

that can be accessed centrally via a learning management system. Technical and content-related support is available to users who have questions or problems.

After successful completion of a pilot phase with 150 users, the service is now available to all 4,000 Marché employees worldwide, from desktop PCs and from mobile devices.

Marché and inside were distinguished with the eLearning Award 2013 for the successful implementation of this project.
